I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes in Oklahoma City today with my former White House colleague Dr. Condi Rice. I just think the world of her, and I was very hopeful that she would run for President, though I always knew she wouldn’t. She’s too smart for that.

On a related note, I received an update today from a Bush alumni network that I’m one of only 11 Bush White House veterans running for office nationwide. I guess in my own way, I’m a little piece of the Bush legacy. Dr. Rice is a much larger piece, and she carries it well.
